I would like your thoughts. The following is a my best attempt short summary of events. This was around 8:20pm northern Dallas/Richardson TX.
I was grilling and was farting around the backyard for about 10 minutes until the salmon was done. I started to hear what I thought was an owl. I’ve only heard/seen one other owl in the wild in my trees so this was a rare occurrence for me.
I tried figuring out where the hooting or cooing was coming from with my eyes. It sounded as if in succession it began getting closer to me which seemed odd because I hadn’t taken a step toward it.
About 15 seconds in I was starring at a spot up in a neighbor’s tree behind my backyard fence. (Where I believed the owl to possibly be.) I then saw a bright orange orb shoot out the back right of that tree in a relatively close distance. (Maybe 3 miles or less but that is relative to how large I perceived the orb to be.
It shot away out of sight in the matter of a second or two.(what I would image warp speed would to be.) it seem to take off fast but it was light a quick gradual climb and then it shot off.
Only thing I can think of as a logical explanation is a Roman Candle shooting off but here’s why I don’t think this was that: No sound, Roman Candles typically have multiple rounds, it didn’t dissipate like a firework sparkling out, and it was like a gradual quick speed climb then shot off type of flight trajectory..
I don’t recall seeing the orb fly from the left side of the sky and tree with my peripherals or anything and I believe I should have since it was so bright. It did seem to have an upward trajectory though.
Please give me your thoughts!
