Found out this was the right place to post my experience

First time poster.

Just came back from the 49 Palms hike at Joshua Tree, CA. It was close to sundown and the sky was a very pretty orange and purple gradient color.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a bright pink/red light that would remain static, shine really bright and then disappear and then reappear somewhere else and repeat the process. This happened 3 or 4 times before it disappeared for good.

It was dead silent and close enough to be an airplane, but the thing that messed me up the most was how quickly and silently it carried out this process.

Anyone else see something like this around the same area?
